A new booklet, entitled Consultant Surgeons Team Working in Surgical Practice, will be launched this week as part of the RCSI's annual Charter Day celebrations. The booklet sets out guidelines to encourage consultant team working and to facilitate clinical governance.
The booklet is modelled on an original document published by the Senate of Surgery of Great Britain & Ireland last year. The RCSI booklet takes into account the structural and operational differences in the healthcare systems between Ireland and Britain.
