Something rotten at the movies

I guess it’s the aftermath of the millennium, but nobody seems very excited about the end of the decade

I guess it’s the aftermath of the millennium, but nobody seems very excited about the end of the decade. Where are all the lists? Thank goodness for Rotten Tomatoes. The popular website, which tabulates movie reviews and assigns each release a percentage, has slightly prematurely unleashed its worst 100 films of the noughties.

The winner (loser?), one of many entries that did not manage a release in this territory, was the 2002 action thriller Ballistic: Ecks vs Sever. A forgotten vehicle for Lucy Liu and Antonio Banderas, the film secured a stunning zero out of 100 from the world's critics. The top five were completed by One Missed Call,Roberto Benigni's Pinocchio(yes!), King's Ransomand National Lampoon's Gold Diggers.

The shocker for Ticketreaders is that the highest (lowest?) placing film released in Ireland actually received a positive review in this organ. According to the world's idiots, the hugely funny Strange Wilderness,a 2008 stoner comedy starring Steve Zahn, is the seventh worst film of the 21st century. Have these people not seen The Boat That Rocked?
