Six short films have been shortlisted for the inaugural Human Rights Film School awards, organised by the Irish Council for Civil Liberties. The finalists will be screened at the prize- giving ceremony in the Light House Cinema, Dublin, next Thursday night, at which the winner will be announced.
Entries cover a range of themes, including street children in Manila, immigration, an Irish transgender person, and the use of Shannon Airport for “extraordinary rendition” flights. www.humanrights filmschool.org
