Sayles celebrates union centenary

Trust the resolute John Sayles to do the decent thing

Trust the resolute John Sayles to do the decent thing. The veteran indie film-maker will be in Ireland this autumn to help the Waterford Council of Trade Unions celebrate its centenary.

On October 15th, Sayles will introduce a screening of his superb Matewan (1987), a true story of union organisation, in the historic city. The screening will be presented in partnership with two admirable bodies: the Imagine Arts Festival and Waterford Film For All.
