Fairyhouse Racecourse, Co Meath Sat 2pm €79.75 0818-719300
Long before the Electric Picnic and Oxegen came along, brands such as Homelands and Creamfields pitched their disco tents in fields and racecourses around the country and whooped it up. But when it comes to bumper days out for trance, techno and house fans now, Planetlove is probably the last man standing, so it will be interesting to note what effect (if any) the recession will have on this year’s outing.
The promoters will be hoping that seven stages with 70 live acts and DJs will do the trick – the fact that ticket prices are pegged at 2008 levels will also help.
Those on their way to Co Meath include Ferry Corsten, Hot Chip (DJ set), Derrick Carter, Dave Clarke, Markus Schulz, Lisa Lashes, Alex Kidd, Kate Lawler, N-Trance (left) and many more. There’s a strong local line-up too, including John O’Callaghan, Al Gibbs, John Gibbons, Orla Feeney, Karl Davis and others.
