Forget all the razzle-dazzle of the Dublin International Piano Competition. You can plumb the depths of Schubert’s last three piano sonatas with Elisabeth Leonskaja at Bantry House on Saturday. It’s rare enough to get the opportunity to hear these three works on a single programme, even rarer to be offered them by a musician of the calibre of Leonskaja, a representative of the Russian piano school who has spent the last three decades living in Vienna, and who was a performing partner of the late, great Sviatoslav Richter.
