Recent arrival in the post: a one-sheet "Story of the T-shirt" which informs us that, having begun life as a modest piece of underwear, in this decade American designer Tommy Hilfiger "lends his name to the T-shirt" and "the rest is history". Oh, really? A few unfortunate souls may like to pay to advertise Mr Hilfiger's name on their chests, but the rest of us would be perfectly happy if he reclaimed that particular loan.

This week's mail order catalogue: a new Irish company offering clothes for children. Called Yellow House, it is run by designer Deborah Maguire whose own four offspring are an obvious source of inspiration. They also offer a handy supply of youthful models, but Yellow House is interested to photograph other children for the autumn/winter catalogue. The designs themselves look attractive and contemporary, with lots of bright colours and comfortable shapes. For more information/a copy of the catalogue, contact Yellow House at 021-307505.

Want of interest in millennial matters (yawn, who cares? No answers on a postcard, please) may explain why the results of a recent millennium beauty and style survey among 20-35-year-olds are quite so dull. Such as the news that Andrea Corr - no doubt a perfectly pleasant, if rather manufactured-looking, individual - is considered Ireland's most stylish woman. Then there is the hold-the-front-page information that 39 per cent of those questioned preferred 1990s fashion (to what is not explained - medieval wimples perhaps?) and 43 per cent of the women who participated would most miss their moisturiser if stranded on a desert island, which must be disappointing to their loved ones. The survey - maybe a rather unamusing April Fool? - was conducted by cosmetics company Boots No 7; we reckon they should stick to face creams.

Prettiest press release to arrive in a long time is that for Guerlain's KissKiss Pure Comfort Lipsticks; a smart little book with baby pink cover. The lippies look very nice too, with a 10 SPF, the promise of moisturisation and a range of 18 gorgeous colours making KissKiss decidedly yumyum. Right now, we recommend a seasonal pink such as Rose The or Rose Nuage. All come in a smart, banded, gold case and cost £15 each; on sale at Guerlain counters now.
