AN extensive landscape after the manner of Stubbs, featuring the portrait of a huntmaster together with hounds and huntsman, made the day's best price of £11,000 at the most recent sale conducted by Dublin auctioneers, Herman & Wilkinson.
Among the other pictures in the same sale, a 19th century Wattcauesque conversation piece sold for £2,000 and a 19th century Irish school oil of a youth in a landscape made £1,000. The best furniture prices included £3,300 for a Victorian mahogany oval end extending dining table, £2,700 for a large Georgian mahogany oval double drop leaf hunt table, £1,950 for an Edwardian mahogany and satinwood shaped front display cabinet and £1,750 for both a Georgian inlaid sideboard and a Regency mahogany and satinwood bowfront chest.
