LIAM Phelan of Project Management, the Irish engineering and project management group operating internationally, says the work they do in Poland is mainly engineering and design as well as construction management for multinational clients.
Their main target factories are those operating in food processing, consumer goods and electronics.
They are, he says, currently involved in two large, strategic operations, one of which is for McCains Foods of Canada in Wroclaw in the south-west of the country where they are working on the construction management of a green field frozen French fried project which is a £60 million Irish operation.
Project Management, says Liam Phelan, are also involved in the upgrading of a tobacco threshing facility for Philip Morris in the south-east of the country near the city of Rzeszow. They have an office in Poland and the engineering teams that they use on the various projects they are involved in are made up of Irish and Polish engineers and he adds that prospects generally in Poland are very good.
