LA DJ and producer Lucas MacFadden is in town as part of the Made in Temple Bar bash to mark 20 years of regeneration in what is now Dublin’s premier drinking quarter. While Cut Chemist first appeared on our radars with Jurassic 5, he split that scene before J5 called it a day in 2007 and hasn’t been short of things to do since.

MacFadden's resumé includes a fine solo album ( The Audience's Listening); a bit of acting (a blink-and- you'll-miss-it turn as a teacher in Juno, for instance); and supporting Shakira on the Hard Selltours with his old mucker DJ Shadow, a partnership that first took off when the pair dusted off rare funk and soul grooves for the Brainfreezeand Product Placementmix-albums.

Cut Chemist's most recent stint in the lab produced last year's Sound of the Policemix, focusing on Ethiopian and Afro-Brazilian tunes.
