The report headed "Mayo fishermen oppose planned power plant" in last Saturday's editions was incorrect. The Erris Inshore Fisheries Association is to lodge objections to the proposed gas reception plant at Pollatomish, Co Mayo, and not, as stated, to plans by Rolls Royce Power Ventures Ltd to build a gas-fired power plant in Bellacorick.

The fishermen are extremely concerned that the water quality in Broadhaven Bay would be adversely affected by pollutants from the proposed gas terminal at Pollatomish, according to Mr Eddie Diver, spokesman for the association.

In yesterday's report headed "Bush and Aznar agree on need for common strategy", reference was made to the forthcoming meeting between President Bush and President Putin in "Slovakia". This should have read "Slovenia".
