Twisted Pepper, Dublin Fri-Sun 10.30pm 01-8734800
It's set to be a busy weekend on Middle Abbey Street, as the Twisted Pepper's Beatyard weekender goes hell for leather. Tonight's frolics are provided by Aeroplane (let's hope Vito De Luca's live show is better than the disappointing We Can't Flyalbum), Mike Paradinas (Mu-Ziq), Meljoann (whose debut album is ace) and many more.
Tomorrow, German jazz- not-jazz maestros Jazzanova (below) are the hot ticket, but there’s also Pogo resident Barry Redsetta, visual installations from the Mart collective, Eoin Callanan and the Merchantsville crew. The last post for the weekender comes on Sunday, with house luminary Moodymann, Scottish deep-space travellers Optimo Espacio and drum’n’bass from the Spectrum crew.
Aside from all the dancefloor action, there are music production workshops, comedy shows, film screenings, a food and drink tasting afternoon, a vintage fair and, yes, bingo. See bodytonicmusic.com.
Can't see that? catch this:
