A DETACHED Regency villa, Hilton Lodge, at Waltham Terrace in Blackrock, Co Dublin, was sold yesterday at a Lisney auction for £602,500. The owners bought the five-bedroom house in 1993 for £395,000. Since then planning permission has been granted for a mews in the half-acre gardens.
In Co Galway, St Clerans, a Georgian manor house at Craughwell, once owned by the movie director John Huston, was withdrawn at auction at £600,000 by the Gunne agency. It stands on 45 acres.
