Irish company Datahug has picked up an award at a pan-European event to honour the top start-up talent in the region.
Datahug was named Best Business, Recruitment or Enterprise start-up at the Europas in Berlin last night.
The company, founded by Connor Murphy and Ray Smith in 2010, beat competition from rivals Duedil, Conversocial and Bonusbox to scoop the prize.
Also honoured last night were online loans firm Wonga, named Best Heavyweight Start-up, and Cut the Rope creator ZeptoLabs, which walked away with the Grand Prix. Gaming firm Wooga was awarded the People’s Choice.
More than 1,000 guests attended the awards on Tuesday evening, which were created by Mike Butcher. Judges from Kleiner Perkins, Accel, Index, Google Ventures and Crunchfund among others evaluated the entries.
