MS Denise Callan, a director of Callan Knitwear Ltd, says a more stable political climate could only be good for business.

Callan Knitwear, which has been open for seven years and is located just outside Derry, manufactures Aran jumpers, mainly for the tourist market. It has a turnover of around £750,000 sterling and employs 14 people.

The bulk of what it produces is exported, either to the Republic or overseas to continental Europe, Canada and Japan.

A pick-up in tourism throughout the country would be welcome news for the company as it would increase the demand for its product across the board, Ms Callan says.
