Irish financial institutions are wasting millions of pounds developing woolly "relationship marketing" strategies, a conference will hear next week. Research by Andersen Consulting in the US shows that what customers really value is price and speed of delivery.

In an address to the Marketing Institute's annual conference next Thursday, Mr Adrian Hegarty, managing director of Friends First, will suggest that the survey shows Irish institutions are wasting money.
