Receiver cuts sale of Blarney resort

A RECEIVER handling the sale of Blarney Golf Resort in Co Cork has reduced the asking price from €12

A RECEIVER handling the sale of Blarney Golf Resort in Co Cork has reduced the asking price from €12.5 million to €10 million in the hope of finding a buyer.

The high class golf resort includes an 18-hole golf course, a 64-bedroom, four-star hotel, a separate two-storey clubhouse with catering facilities, a pro shop, health spa, gym, swimming pool and 38 two-bedroom golf lodges.

Earlier this year AIB appointed Billy O’Riordan of PricewaterhouseCoopers as receiver to the 168-acre country club which is located about 13 kilometers from Cork city.

Paul Collins of CB Richard Ellis, who is handling the sale, said a purchaser could sell off the golf lodges as a means of reducing the overall investment in the club and they would still have a substantial range of facilities.
