OMNIPLEX Group is to seek planning permission for a €5.5m eight-screen cinema complex at Drogheda Retail Park. It will include an Omniplex Maxx giant screen which at 23 metres wide will be the largest in the State. The company recently unveiled a similar screen at Junction One in Antrim.
Paul Anderson, chief executive of the Omniplex Group, said the new complex would accommodate audiences of over 1,200 and would be run alongside its four screens at the Boyne Centre in Drogheda. Two other developers have also sought permission to develop new cinemas in Drogheda.
