Keen price for space in Trim

Firms looking for a quality, inexpensive location should consider a business park on the outskirts of Trim, Co Meath. DTZ Sherry FitzGerald Royal Auctioneers is quoting a rent of €53 per sq m (€5 per sq ft) for warehouse space and €107 per sq m (€10 per sq ft) for office space at Scurlockstown Business Park. The warehouse-office unit has 242sq m (2,500sq ft) and an eaves height of 11 metres. The ground and first floor offices, which can be let separately, have air conditioning.

Bid of €1.5m on Galway shop

A ground floor shop at Shop Street in Galway city is likely to be sold shortly after several offers were made for it. Joint agents Savills and DTZ Sherry FitzGerald originally quoted a guide price of over €1.25m for the shop with 60.45sq m (651sq ft) of space and 16.8sq m (181sq ft) of storage on the first floor. Bidding on the shop has now reached €1.5 million. Alternatively, the agent is seeking a rent of €80,000 for the unit which has been let to retailer Zhivago for the Christmas period.

Diesel and Outrage for Ilac

Diesel is opening a new store at the Ilac centre. It will be paying rent of €80,000 a year for a 120sq m (1,292sq ft) unit or 10 per cent of turnover, whichever is greater. Also moving into a similar-sized shop in the Ilac is Outrage, a unisex fashion trader which previously operated a wholesale business from Co Monaghan. The short lease was negotiated by Savills, which advised the tenant, while HWBC and Bannon acted for the landlords. Outrage is also opening a new outlet at the Jervis Centre.

HMV for Sligo centre

HMV is to pay rent of €180,000 for a store at the successful Johnston Court shopping centre in Sligo. The multiple will serve as co-anchor for the scheme which has several international retailers. HMV will occupy the 645sq m (6,950sq ft) former Zavvi store. Darren Peavoy of agent Bannon, who is advising the centre owner Ray Monahan, has also agreed letting terms with Tom Tailor which will shortly open a unit of 418sq m (4,500sq ft). Peavoy says there is renewed interest in a number of vacant units in the centre.
