PROPERTY developer Gerry Gannon has sold the 105-acre College Farm at Hayestown, Balbriggan, Co Dublin, for €1.5 million. The price works out an average of €14,285 per acre for the land which has 1.4 km of road frontage. It is located close to the M1 motorway.
Agents HT Meagher O’Reilly, who handled the sale, has also sold a 57-acre farm beside Durrow, Co Laois, for €450,000 - equating to €7,900 per acre.
The agency has now completed farm sales of around €5 million over the past year. These included 74 acres at Straffan, Co Kildare, for €1.3 million, 127 acres at Maynooth for €1.1 million and 47 acres at Dunboyne for €500,000.
