€14,000 an acre for Dublin farm

A 140-ACRE farm at Ballyboughal in north Dublin has been sold at auction for more than €14,000 per acre. The tillage farm attracted an opening bid of €1.2 million at the auction, conducted by James Meagher of HT Meagher O’Reilly, and was finally withdrawn at €2.05 million. Negotiations were then opened with the highest bidder – a local farmer – and it was sold to him.
