Multi-city independent radio station 4FM, whose shareholders include The Irish Times, has appointed Jim Miley as its chief executive designate.

Mr Miley takes up the post on January 18th and his selection is subject to approval from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland (BAI).

The BAI’s board is expected to consider Mr Miley’s appointment at its next meeting on January 25th.

Mr Miley was a co-founder and chief executive of Myhome.ie, the online property website owned by The Irish Times. He stepped down from that role last year.
