Tyrone showed the awesome gap in standards as they completely outclassed a very poor Wexford side at Gorey. Tyrone put aside the absence of Naomh Errigal players Pascal and Peter Canavan, as they controlled the game from the throw-in after centre-forward Brian Eccles put them in front with a point after just 20 seconds.
With Jody Gormley and Fergal Logan in complete control at midfield, they went on to build a 1-5 to 0-2 lead inside 15 minutes, the goal coming from corner-forward Damian Gormley.
Wexford were given a brief glimpse of home when Scot Doran put Jason Lawlor in for a goal nine minutes before the break; but the home side still trailed 1-7 to 12 at the interval.
Tyrone completely overpowered a depleted Wexford side, adding a second goal through Brian Eccles as they simply toyed with the opposition in the closing quarter.
