Tramore attempt to run off the card originally scheduled for New Year's Day tomorrow but with high winds and rain forecast, the executive face an anxious weekend. The seaside track is especially vulnerable to high winds but presuming that racing gets the green light, the adaptable Fiftysevenchannels looks the one to be on in the Dawn Meats Chase.

Apart from that, Function Dream still looks the one to be on in the Beginners Chase and Golden Gold and Charmaine O'Neill look good for the ladies maiden hurdle.

Uttoxeter's new partnership with the BBC could get off to an earlier-than-expected start today, if the meeting gets the go-ahead.

"The course is raceable now but heavy rain is forecast for tonight accompanied by gale force winds," said clerk of the course David McAllister.

If Newbury's televised meeting is abandoned, the Grandstand programme will instead show the 1.05, 1.35 and 2.05 races from the Staffordshire track.

The BBC took over television rights to Uttoxeter from Channel 4 amidst controversy last year, with course supremo Stan Clarke accused by the commercial station of acting in bad faith.
