MUNSTER MINOR SEMI-FINAL REPLAY:Tipperary 2-21 Cork 1-12

JOHN O’DWYER helped himself to 11 points last night as Tipperary advanced to the Munster minor hurling championship final with victory over last year’s provincial winners Cork, at the second attempt.

Tipperary cruised to a 12-point victory and produced a much improved showing in front of 5,880 spectators after the sides had finished level at 5-17 apiece in a drawn classic a week before.

O’Dwyer had scored 2-7 at Páirc Uí Chaoimh and he was in rich scoring form again at Semple Stadium last night as Tipp set up a final showdown against Waterford on July 12th.

Tipperary led by 1-11 to 0-8 at half-time as David Collins struck eight minutes before the interval for a crucial goal, just two minutes after team-mate Seán Curran had missed a good chance.

Cork pulled back to within four points when captain Eoin O’Sullivan goaled six minutes after the restart but Tipp took control again within a minute as substitute David Butler replied in kind.
