The new handicap system for women's golf, which allows handicaps of up to 45, has not met with full approval if events at the Northern District ILGU a.g.m. are taken as an indicator. Delegates at the meeting in Shandon Park last week were unanimous in requesting the District Executive Committee to write to the ILGU asking for a return to the 36 maximum. Anne Wallace of City of Derry was elected a vice-president and Brigid McCaw, Royal Co Down, was elected as delegate to Council.

The other member of the Northern District for the coming year are: Honorary Secretary, Marie Nivison (Bangor); Assistant Honorary Secretary, Ann Dickson (Ardglass); Junior Honorary Secretary, Phil McAreavey (Malone), Assistant Honorary Secretary, Evelyn McFadden (Portstewart). Three new members were elected to the Northern Executive: Geraldine Gray (Downpatrick), Honor Leekey (Royal Belfast) and Carol Mitchel (Malone).
