A fighting finish took Queen's University past local rivals St Mary's in yesterday's Sigerson Cup clash at The Dub in Belfast. Goals by Karl Oakes and Liam McBarron in the last quarter were decisive.
St Mary's had edged into a two-point lead during the second half thanks to some great midfield play by Donegal's John Haran and an excellent show from Ulster and Derry half back Paul McFlynn. However, the greater experience of Queen's told in the end and they owe a big debt to their Fermanagh pair Tom Brewster and McBarron.
