PBC Cork ... 12 St Munchin's ... 6:Holders PBC Cork survived a stern test from a strong St Munchin's side to book their semi-final place in the Munster Schools Senior Cup at Musgrave Park yesterday.

The Cork side played with the wind in the first half and led 12-0 at the break, scoring two tries in the process.

Impressive scrumhalf David O'Driscoll claimed the first after 11 minutes, with Cormac O'Flynn converting and the champions struck again in injury-time when Brian O'Hara, son of former international flanker Pat, touched down in the corner.

Secondrow Michael Madden kicked an early second-half penalty for St Munchin's, but they had to wait until three minutes from the end of regulation time for a second to set up a grandstand finish.

Six minutes into injury-time Pres needed the combination of wings Simon Zebo and Johnny McCarthy to stop Craig O'Hanlon just short of the try-line near the right corner.
