O'Mahony has suspension lifted pending full hearing

NEWS:AIDAN O'MAHONY has had his provisional suspension for failing a dope test lifted pending a full hearing of the case.

The Kerry centre back was automatically suspended after an adverse testing for Salbutamol in a sample taken after last September's All-Ireland final.

The player will argue that the levels of the drug in his system were consistent with therapeutic use for asthma, a condition O'Mahony has suffered from since childhood. No date has yet been set for the hearing of the case by the GAA's Anti-Doping Hearings Committee, whose chair lifted this week's automatic ban after a preliminary hearing.

The GAA announced that it would not be making any further comment on the matter before the hearing in accordance with article 15 of the national anti-doping code.
