Portumna Community School just got the better of St Joseph's in their Connacht Junior Cup quarter-final at Portumna yesterday. Portumna went in front after 15 minutes when left winger Ger Lyons converted a penalty from the 22. Four minutes later, St Joseph's full back Thomas Chambers made a great break and touched down for a try.

Lyons was on target again, however, with the winning penalty after 48 minutes.
