CAMOGIE: Dublin enjoyed a 2-9 to 1-4 victory over Clare in the Junior All-Ireland final replay in Birr yesterday.

It was Clare who had the benefit of the strong first-half wind, and led 1-1 to 0-1 at the break, their goal coming from Catherine O'Loughlin.

Emer Lucey got Dublin's opening goal 11 minutes after the restart to leave them trailing by 1-2 to Clare's 1-3. Louise O'Hara added a second with 10 minutes remaining to give Dublin a 2-3 to 1-4 lead, and they never looked back after that with both Louise O'Hara and Ciara Lucey both sending over 0-2 each while Eve Talbot also got her name on the score board.

CARLOW SFC SEMI-FINALS: Although they trailed 0-5 to 0-1 after 20 minutes, Eire Óg, emerged convincing 3-7 to 0-9 winners over Kildavin/Clonegal at Dr Cullen Park yesterday.

The game's crucial score came from Brian Carberry in first-half injury-time to make it 1-3 to 0-5. Eire Óg inched to a 1-7 to 0-7 lead at the end of the third quarter and with seven minutes remaining Simon Rea scored a marvellous individual goal before setting up Carberry for his second. In the other semi-final, Hanrahans beat Old Leighlin by 1-10 to 0-5. Pa Kavanagh scoring the only goal of the game in the sixth minute, while O'Hanrahan's goalkeeper saved a Patrick Hickey penalty.

GALWAY SHC: Portumna set up a semi-final meeting with Gort thanks to an inspirational display from teenager Joe Canning scored 2-9 in a 2-19 to 0-9 victory over Carnmore.

KERRY SFC QUARTER-FINALS: Laune Rangers blew away the Rathmore challenge ia 2-11 to 0-9 quarter-final victory played at Austin Stack Park Tralee yesterday. Mike Frank Russell produce a vintage display of finishing along with full forward Seamie Foley as they amassed 1-4 apiece.

Laune will face DR Crokes in the semi-finals, after Colm Cooper led his side to a 2-11 to 1-9 victory over An Ghaeltacht at the same venue.

Cooper scored three first half points against the wind cut loose in the second half, amassing a total of 2-5.

In Saturday's quarter-finals, West Kerry beat Austin Stacks by 0-12 to 2-4, while South Kerry and East Kerry tied (0-13 to 1-10).

WEXFORD SHC: Reigning champions Oulart-the-Ballagh destroyed last years beaten finalists Rathnure by 4-12 to 1-8 at Wexford Park yesterday.

Rathnure had a dream start with a Robbie Codd goal inside the first minute, but thereafter it was the title holders who gradually played their way back into the game.

With the game evenly balance it was a superb Michael Jacob goal from a free that edged Oulart-the-Ballagh in front and they went on to lead 1-9 to 1-5 at the interval.

The expected Rathnure second half recovery failed to materialise with goals from Rory Jacob, Des Mythen and Paul Finn sealing their side's passage.

A goal in each half from Paul Doyle and Keith Burke helped Buffers Alley to a 2-7 to 1-9 victory over St Anne's in their senior hurling championship quarter-final replaythe same venue. St. Anne's led at half-time 1-3 to 1-1, with Pierce White shooting a fine goal.

LAOIS SFC SEMI-FINALS: Stradbally qualified for yet another Laois football final following a 1-12 to 2-3 win over The Heath at Portlaoise yesterday. Despite playing with a strong breeze in the opening half, The Heath trailed by 0-7 to 1-3 at the interval, the goal coming from a Chris Bergin penalty just before half-time.

In the other semi-final, Portlaoise and Emo drew 0-10 to 0-10. Emo were heading for their second final in a row but a late strike from full forward Sean Cotter ensured that the sides must meet again.
