THERE was a dramatic finish to the Limerick Senior Hurling Club final which will be replayed next Sunday after the champions Patrickswell looked to have grabbed a late win but then conceded two injury-time points as Adare fought back.

The first half was pedestrian enough after Adare went in front with a goal by Shane Fitzgibbon within three minutes. Gary Kirby had a goal for Patrickswell after 18 minutes at which stage Adare led by a point.Points by Kirby had his side 1-6 to 1-5 in front at the interval.

Kirby finished with a superb tally of 3-9; he kicked a goal eight minutes into the second half.

But immediately Adare swept upfield and Shane Fitzgibbon struck a marvellous goal.

Six minutes from the end Patrickswell were leading 2-11 to 2-9 but then came a goal by Brendan Heffernan for Adare.

In the 60th minute when the Adare goalkeeper, Pat Brennan failed to hold the ball Kirby was in to get a touch which seemed to give his side victory.

In injury time Tony Houlihan opted for a point from a long-range free; he then struck the equaliser with the last puck of the game.

The winners play the Clare champ ions Wolfe Tones in the Munster club semi-final on Sunday week.
