Sir, - The debate on "what should be done now, war or not?", which has followed the tragic events of September 11th, reminds me that a Mr Charles Darwin once said that "it is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change".
May the people of the United States change and prove that they are the strongest and the most intelligent species by responding to their suffering in whatever way appropriate to ensure that these terrible atrocities are never repeated, be it war or not. - Yours, etc.,
