Madam, - In an almost Pavlovian response to a picture of a stag hunt in your edition of December 28th, Renée Barrett (January 2nd) feels compelled to register her moral outrage at the members of the hunt for "terrorising one of God's creatures".

While the writer is perfectly entitled to her views on hunting and to live according to them, she should realise that those of us who hunt do so with a clear conscience and are content to let God judge us. In today's world She has bigger fish to fry. - Yours, etc.,
