A chara,– Lorna Siggins (Home News, November 9th) reports Marilyn Horan of Observers International as saying that protesters against the Corrib gas project were “consistently peaceful” and that despite Garda allegations there is not a single recorded incident of violence by protesters”.

For the record, Ms Horan, unlike other outside groups, did not contact any one of us in Pro Gas Mayo which supports the project, and we were unaware of her presence or organisation until November 9th. It would also appear she did not contact local media ( The Irish Timesincluded) which have consistently reported on acts of violence, and indeed court reports to this effect. The facts speak for themselves. Therefore it is a partial and incomplete report, I must conclude. – Is mise,
