A chara, - Congratulations and thanks to Cardinal Hume for his timely and clear statement: "There can be no place for abortion in a civilised country." Just where does that leave us in Ireland?
Is it not sickening that the Marie Stopes Abortion Clinics have seized the opportunity provided (by our politicians) to open an office here to tout for business - supplying Irish doctors with pads of "Referral Form for Termination of Pregnancy", and price lists of what their abortion clinics in Britain will charge for killing Irish babies.
Do the politicians (and others) who pressed so vigorously for a "Yes, Yes, Yes" vote, not bear the responsibility for this further sad and degrading step in our downward march? Hopefully our medical professional who have acted so honourably against euthanasia, will treat the touting with the contempt it deserves. - Le meas,
