Madam, – It is probably just as well that the Garda Síochána don’t enforce the Noxious Weeds Act, 1936 with the same thoroughness that it enforces other acts of the Oireachtas, otherwise the National Roads Authority would surely be facing the maximum fine of £20 for the bumper crop of ragwort they are growing in the centre of the M7 motorway this summer. – Yours, etc,
