Back to school

Sir, – I am writing to express my delight at Arminta Wallace's article on the archive photograph by Tommy Collins you published in the Magazine last Saturday ("Back when students had time to daydream", May 30th). It showed a group of young ladies sitting on the lawn in St Mary's, Cabra, under the watchful eyes of a Dominican sister. I am principal of the school now and would love to re-create that picture. I would be delighted to hear from any of the women in the picture and they can contact me at the school. Although the year was 1965, I can say that the setting has not changed a great deal in 50 years. Our students, I would suggest, apart from the addition of mobile phones and computers, haven't really changed that much either! – Yours, etc,

ANN DONNELLY,

Principal,
