A youth (18) has been remanded in custody in connection with a Limerick shooting incident that left a man seriously injured last week.

Liam Kelly, Distillery View, Thomondgate was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life at St Munchin's Street on September 23rd.

A man (21) was shot in the stomach and back during the incident.

Mr Kelly was remanded in custody to appear in court again tomorrow for a bail hearing. The court heard gardaí intend to oppose a bail application.
