Tokyo - The US envoy on North Korea, Mr William Perry, arrived in Pyongyang yesterday to present a joint message from Washington, Tokyo and Seoul, exploring ways to end confrontation with North Korea.
The former defence secretary is expected to outline the US policy of a "comprehensive approach", prodding Pyongyang to halt nuclear and missile development in exchange for economic and political benefits. During his four-day visit, Mr Perry may seek a meeting with North Korea's supreme leader, Mr Kim Jong-Il.
