A cyclist killed when hit by a car on the Cork-Mallow road near Blarney, Co Cork, on Tuesday night has been named. He is Mr Donal Crowley (44), a married man with four children, from Coolowen, Blarney. The elderly woman killed in a hit-and-run while crossing the main Cork-Waterford road on Tuesday evening has been named as Ms Eileen Hayes (78) of Ballindinas, Castle martyr, Co Cork. She was apparently hit by a car and a truck near her home at about 7 p.m.
