Police are investigating a suspected sectarian attack on the home of the North’s former police ombudsman Nuala O’Loan and her SDLP Assembly member husband Declan.
The incident happened at about 4am yesterday when paint was thrown at their house in Ballymena, Co Antrim.
“This was a regrettable incident which the police are actively investigating,” said Mr O’Loan.
“No immediate motive is known but I understand it will be classed as a hate crime. The mess will be cleared up and life will go on,” he added.
