No summer concert will take place at Slane Castle this year, Lord Henry Mountcharles confirmed at the weekend.

Speaking to Marian Finucane on RTÉ Radio One, the owner of Slane Castle did not give a specific reason for cancelling the annual concert.

While expressing regret that people would be disappointed by the decision, he argued that it would be much worse to put “a half- baked scenario together”.

“You can’t do things if it doesn’t feel right. In my skin it didn’t feel right, so I’m very sorry but that’s the decision that’s been made,” he said.
