A berry man who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing his nine year old daughter is to be jailed next Monday. The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to three charges of gross indecency and three of indecent assault at Derry Crown Court yesterday.
The offences were carried out between July 1993 and July 1995. The defendant, who is alcohol dependent, has a psychiatric history.
Judge Thomas Burgess said the maximum sentence for the offences was 10 years and the defendant would be receiving "a severe period of imprisonment".
