A young County Clare man was before Limerick District Court yesterday charged with stealing €108,000 from Dunnes Stores, Harvey's Quay, Limerick, last Monday. Mr Tony Spearin (22), Annsgrove, Ardnacrusha, was charged under Section 2 of the Larceny Act, and under Section 33 of the same act for allegedly handling the money.
The court heard €107,900 had been recovered. The defendant was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody with consent to bail until April 10th.
