Viewing figures for RTÉ's flagship Late Late Showrose on Friday after a disappointing start to the new season. Some 744,000 viewers tuned in to watch presenter Ryan Tubridy interview Senator David Norris, actor John Hurt and Celebrity Big Brother winner Paddy Doherty. This is equivalent to 50 per cent of the available audience and is in line with the same period a year ago. Tubridy has been under pressure after the show haemorrhaged viewers in its first two weeks back on air.
Just 650,000 people tuned in to watch the first show on September 2nd which included singer Sinéad O’Connor and actor Cuba Gooding jnr. This compares to 832,000 for the same show last year.
