Irish boxer Paul McCloskey must wait a few more weeks to qualify for the Olympic Games after losing on points to Sweden's Patrick Bogere in the qualifying tournament in Warsaw, Poland today.

McCloskey, who produced a classy display against Spiridon Ioannidis of Greece yesterday, lost 48-32 in the semi-finals of the light-welter division.

The Derryman will now attempt to secure his Athens ticket at the third and final series of qualifiers in Sweden at the end of the month.
