Last year's big race winning jockey Johnny Murtagh will miss the Arc meeting at Longchamp tomorrow after suffering lacerations to his ankle after his mount slipped up in the final race at The Curragh today.

Murtagh who was scheduled to ride the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Little Rock in the day's showpiece was cut on the outside of the right foot when True Crystal clipped the heels of a rival in the closing Diamond Stakes.

He was later taken to hospital for stitches and an x-ray.

Murtagh also had two other booked mounts in Paris. He was due to take the plate on board Royal Rebel in the Prix du Cadran for Middleham trainer Mark Johnston and ride Bahamian Pirate in the Prix de l'Abbaye for fellow Yorkshire trainer David Nicholls.
