PANCAKE PARTIES:The National Children's Hospital in Tallaght is seeking volunteers to host pancake parties between February 1st and 5th to raise funds for equipment and materials.

To register your intent to make pancakes for your friends and family, check out www.pancakeparty.ie or tel:01-4142375. Last year's funds went towards the purchase of a paediatric colonoscope.

HAEMOCHROMATOSIS MEETINGS:Haemochromatosis is a genetic disorder which results in excessive storage of iron in the body. Public information meetings explaining the disorder and treatment options have been organised by the Irish Haemochromatosis Association in various venues in the following weeks. The first will take place in the Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology in Galway city on Wednesday, January 23rd at 8pm.
