  • Diet, Obesity and Cancer is the theme of a public lecture tomorrow at 7pm in the Royal College of Physicians, 6 Kildare St, Dublin 2. In the talk, John Reynolds, professor of surgery at Trinity College Dublin, will speak about how a poorly balanced diet can increase risk for certain cancers. Admission free.
  • A network which aims to give people an opportunity to share information, resources and experiences in a positive environment will hold its first Dublin meeting on Thursday, 7.30pm-10pm in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin.   • Naturopath and herbalist Gaby Wieland will help people decide whether a one-day detox, juice fasting or week-long detox suits them better at a day-long course on detoxing on Saturday.   • Billed as the perfect post-Christmas challenge to get back in shape, the 10km fun run in the Phoenix Park on February 13th is for beginners and advanced runners.
